The Capital Campaign

Ragtag Cinema is thrilled with our new home and our ability to be a catalyst for cultural enrichment. Contributions thus far have made it possible to furnish our large theater with cushioned, tiered seating and purchase new screens, superior projection equipment, and stereo sound systems. Ragtag thrives from the generous support of the community and endeavors to continue its growth from a microcinema to a full-blown community art house theater.

Thanks to the generous support of our capital campaign donors, we were able to purchase and install most of these improvements before opening in time for True/False 2008; however, in order to accomplish this, we did have to borrow some funds, and we have a few items to acquire. Our unfinished capital improvements include further soundproofing of the little theater and upgrading of our 35mm projection equipment. In addition, Ragtag must prepare for extensive advances in digital film technology that will require significant investment in new digital projection equipment.

We invite you to partner with us by donating to our capital campaign. Of course, your donation is tax deductible, and we offer Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credits. These credits take dollars directly off your tax bill, if you file business income taxes in the state of Missouri. (Click here to see an example.)
