The Comedy

Opens Dec 14, 2012
Rick Alverson's ironically titled The Comedy is a provocative study of an aging Brooklyn hipster. Tim Heidecker (Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!) is Swanson, a spoiled jerk who sits around waiting for his rich father to die. The Comedy follows Swanson as he hangs out with his friends, rides his bike and works menial jobs (not because he needs the money; he's just bored, you know?). Eric Wareheim (Tim and Eric), James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem) and Gregg Turkington (aka Neil Hamburger) co-star.

"It's a meaty film, filled with ideas unobscured by any generic narrative string, a move that shows not only the confidence of the director but his respect of the audience. This is one that'll have people talking." (Christopher Bell, Indiewire)
