The Sessions

Opens Nov 16, 2012
A big hit at this year's Sundance Film Festival (where it won the audience award and an ensemble acting prize), The Sessions is a funny, touching film based on the autobiographical writings of journalist/poet Mark O'Brien. John Hawkes (Winter's Bone, Martha Marcy May Marlene) stars as a bright, charming man confined to an iron lung who -- at age 38 -- decides he wants to lose his virginity. In order to achieve his goal, he receives help from a sex surrogate (played by an excellent Helen Hunt), as well as guidance from his amusing priest (William H Macy).

"It might just be the most poignant, moving film ever made about one man's surprisingly noble efforts to get laid." (Nathan Rabin, The AV Club)
